- Luke Shaw makes his debut at Euro 2024
- England have reached the semi-finals where they will face the winner between the Netherlands and Türkiye.
It was another game where the Three Lions won their opponents with a tight match. Both teams fought evenly throughout the game. Even though England adjusted their forces to clash with Switzerland by playing with a three-man defense, they still had problems in attacking the opponents’ penalty area as usual. Switzerland took the lead through Breel Embolo in the 75th minute, but not long after that, Bukayo Saka scored a beautiful goal to save England’s life, making it 1-1. The referee blew the whistle to end the 90 minutes.
Both teams could not score. In the 30 minutes of extra time, England and Switzerland played with great precision. There were some close goals, but they failed. As a result, they had to go to a penalty shootout at the end. England’s players were slightly more decisive and won 5-3 in the penalty shootout. The only player who missed a shot for Switzerland was Manuel Akanji, who took the first shot for thehttps://ufabet999.app

England national team player ratings
Jordan Pickford – 7/10
Was the penalty hero to send England through. Had a few good saves in the game.
Kieran Trippier – 6.5/10
Acted as a left wing-back today. He was able to push forward and help the team in the wide areas, while also coming back to help out well in defense.
Kyle Walker – 6.5/10
He excels playing in a three-man centre-back position, using his pace and strength to fight off opposing attackers, and doesn’t have to do what he’s not good at, which is to get forward and play attacking football.
John Stones – 6/10
Not very impressive today, playing as a centre-back in a back three, doing a bit of helping his team-mates get into the game.
Ezri Konsa – 7.5/10
He was outstanding defensively today, helping to disrupt key moments for his opponents and avoiding goals on several occasions. He also made the most clearances in the game, with 7. Southgate may have to think hard about who will start between Konsa and Guehi next time.
Declan Rice – 7.5/10
Had more freedom to play in a three-man backline, dared to get forward, helped his teammates pass the ball, and even got to shoot twice. He had 1 assist from Bukayo Saka’s shot. His defense was good as usual.
Cobbie Mainoo – 7/10
He played well, making important contributions both defensively and offensively, and has confirmed his place in the midfield for this England team.
Jude Bellingham – 7/10
Today’s performance was not bad or good. He was involved in many of the game’s connections, dared to dribble and break through the defense, but there were too many fake shots that prevented him from getting a chance to shoot.
Phil Foden – 6/10
Still not as impressive as before, had a few chances to cross the ball but they weren’t very effective.
Bukayo Saka – 8.5/10
I give him the title of best player of the match because he played very well today. He dared to dribble and create chaos in the defense very well. Plus his shot at the end of the game helped the team survive and win in the end. He has the most shots, passes, dribbles past opponents, created opportunities, and drew fouls in the team.
Harry Kane – 6/10
He was caught off guard by opponents and had little to no impact on the game. *He also lost the ball too easily. He is not a Kane that can be relied on.
Substitute
Eberichi Ese (replaced Kobbie Mainoo 78′) – 7/10
Used his freshness and agility to great effect. Dared to keep the ball and dribble forward, helped clear the ball out of the back area well.
Luke Shaw (on for Kieran Trippier 78′) – 6/10
Made his first appearance at Euro 2024 as a centre-back and was generally underwhelming.
Cole Palmer (replaced Ezri Konsa 78′) – 6.5/10
Came on to help with the ball and attack from deep, didn’t really make an impact other than scoring a penalty to give the team a cool header.
Ivan Toney (on for Harry Kane 109′) – 6/10
Came on for just two touches but was very calm from the spot.
Trent Alexander-Arnold (on for Phil Foden 115′) – N/A
